Capturing the big day on 11/11/11

Hanging out on Twitter last night, I came across a post that was quite amazing. The tweet went something like this: “@Brides estimates that 46,200 weddings will take place, this Friday, 11/11/11″ And, at least 3,500 couples have applied for marriage licenses in Las Vegas for this big day. It makes sense that couples would want to pick a memorable date for such an important event. So given the number of weddings taking place on this day, how do you, as an attendee, make that day stand out? With video of course. Here are some tips in preparing for the big event and giving that special couple, the gift of a lifetime.
  1. Charge your video camera. Bring a mic if you can (weddings are loud)
  2. Charge your smartphone (upload existing pics and videos to clear space)
  3. Think of fun questions to ask the other attendees such as: advice for the couple, fondest memory, how they met, etc.
  4. Interview people that you meet on video to share with the couple later
  5. Capture different scenes around the venue (great for filler)
  6. Capture fun moments of the couple throughout the event
  7. Film simple candid moments of people laughing, crying and dancing
  8. Upload all the videos to Pixorial.com
  9. Edit them together, add background music and share!
  10. Click Share Original to give the couple a copy
  11. Post to Facebook
  12. Create DVDs to share with family and friends (super easy with Pixorial)
Here’s a quick little sample video to get things started:
