Social Media Prom Highlights #SMPROM November 16th, 2010 / Comments: 0 What a great time we had at the Social Media Prom last week in San Francisco. Krystyl Baldwin of EventsforNerds, Ben Parr of Mashable and the team at FunnyorDie really know how to throw a fun event. The event featured live music from the Frail, a Magic Show, a Kissing Booth, live photo sharing by Eye-Fi and LiveShare and of course video sharing from, well, us. We were busy capturing fun prom stories on video (see our Facebook page for interviews and feel free to tag and share). Congrats to Anu, who told the best prom story. She walked away with a new Sony Bloggie pocket video camera from Pixorial. You must hear this story, it is a doozy. The night was unique and brought together a great group of people who are using social media in so many interesting ways. One story in particular left us inspired and that was the UCSF Challenge for the Children. UCSF and Causes joined forces for a fund raising initiative to benefit the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Familiar powerhouses like Marc Benioff, Robert Scoble, Biz Stone, Ashton Kutcher and Loic Le Meur are just a subset of the people who are actively supporting this initiative. All in all, a very fun evening. Can’t wait for next year!
