Colorado’s Pixorial partners with Google Drive storage service April 24th, 2012 The curtain was raised today on Google Drive, the online search giant’s answer to storage services such as Apple’s iCloud and DropBox. About 20 technology companies have partnered with Google to launch applications that will work with the long-rumored and oft-delayed cloud service. Among those partners is Englewood-based Pixorial, which allows users to edit and share videos online regardless of format. “We’re thrilled to have Pixorial integrating with Google Drive,” said Google executive Scott Johnston. “Google Drive is designed to help people be more productive from anywhere, and Pixorial supports that goal by letting people easily edit and share their videos online.” Google Drive will give users 5 gigabytes of free storage space, which is more than the 2 GB that a free account on Dropbox offers but less than the 7 GB from Microsoft’s SkyDrive. Google will charge $30 a year for 25 GB of storage. Apple’s iCloud charges $40 per year for 25 GB of storage. Pixorial founder and CEO Andrés Espiñeira said the partnership will allow users to do more than just store videos online. “They get access to Pixorial’s easy-to-use tools that take video sharing and collaboration to a whole new, dynamic level, where one video can have multiple storytellers,” he said.
