Photos & videos stored in Pixorial are safe from the “Heartbleed” bug

There’s been a lot of news recently about a software bug called “Heartbleed” that can allow hackers to steal info like usernames and passwords from systems protected by some versions of the widely-used OpenSSL security protocol that protects many websites.

Pixorial does not use any of the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software, so your photos, videos, and account information are safe and secure.

secure photo and video storage

You might have noticed the little green lock that appears in your web-browser address bar when you log into a internet-based service. That’s SSL at work, negotiating a secure connection between your device and the service you’re using.

Many versions of OpenSSL used over the last two years are vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug. Pixorial has never used any of the affected versions of OpenSSL.

Safeguarding your privacy and security is priority #1 at Pixorial. In addition to protecting your photos and videos, we don’t store your passwords in vulnerable “cleartext” and never store your financial details.

How can you say you are not vulnerable if you are using Apache and “known use OpenSSL” — https://lastpass.com/heartbleed/?h=www.pixorial.com

Sorry Rob, but you are mistaken. We were not susceptible to the issue because we never used a susceptible version of OpenSSL.
