We are so thrilled to announce that we have partnered with 1000memories to make it easy for anyone to rediscover old home movies and share them online. Every person has a story to tell and 1000memories provides the perfect social experience for sharing and celebrating a lifetime of memories with friends and family. This partnership makes it possible to preserve home movies captured on tape, film and even mobile video and share to their 1000memories profiles or “shoebox”.

As a 1000memories user myself, the experience of sharing photos and videos from my past has been powerful. Resurrecting memories from the 80s and sharing old home movies and photos of family members who have passed has helped my family tell our story in a beautiful way that others can easily contribute to. Naturally, this partnership makes sense as both companies strive to make it easier for families to connect and share their most precious memories.
Here is an excerpt from today’s press release:
The partnership will give individuals, families and organizations the ability to seamlessly digitize and upload home videos of any format, from Super 8, VHS, or even mobile video, now memories that were previously trapped on film, tape or even devices are easy to digitize, preserve, and share with family and friends on 1000memories.
Members of the 1000memories community can simply click “Digitize Home Videos” to begin rescuing those trapped memories. Pixorial will collect the videos you’d like to digitize by mail, then automatically post them to 1000memories.com where they can be shared with friends and family. Pixorial also makes it possible to edit, add music, transitions and more to digitized video footage. Existing members of the Pixorial community can also video collections directly to their shoebox on 1000memories.
The partnership comes just in time for the holidays – the rare time when families can sort through and share old memories together. “The holidays at home are a perfect time to dig out the old photos and videos that have been sitting in your family’s closet, collecting dust for years,” says 1000memories co-founder Jonathan Good. “We’re thrilled to be working with Pixorial to finally get these pieces of family history digitized and put in an online place where they can be shared and preserved for future generations.”
“At Pixorial, our goal is to liberate the world’s memories. The partnership with 1000memories brings us closer to that reality and makes it possible for families to rediscover their precious memories that were previously trapped in boxes, aging formats or video devices. We look forward to this journey,” says Pixorial co-founder and CEO, Andrés Espiñeira.
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it,” Ferris Bueller.
