Here are some tools and sites to check out. Because after all, who doesn’t want to reconnect and remember memories from the past? This weekend, carve out some time to reconnect with your memories. Oh, and don’t forget to share with others.
Another year, another batch of videos captured. The number of video-enabled devices continues to grow but this past year saw a radical change in the way that consumers preferred to capture their video.
Did you know that mobile video was the fastest growing segment in video this year? According to a recent InfoTrends survey, nearly 40 percent of respondents reported that their mobile phone was their primary video capture device.
The rate at which we take video is also increasing. Looking back at the InfoTrends survey, 27% of mobile phone owners reported using their devices for video capture at least once a week.
It is an exciting time to be in the video business especially during a period of growth. In the past year, we have released apps for the iPhone, Android, iPad and Tablets. We also have make it possible for users with HTML-5 capable phones to capture and share their videos.

We are loving the sea of orange in Colorado today. Orange is our favorite color after-all. With excitement abound for this weekend’s Broncos’ game, even our mascot is Tebowing!
Being a Denver based company, we (and our mascot) can’t help but show our support for the local quarterback / evangelist / philanthropist / this game is overrrrrOMG how did they just comeback king! For those of you who have been hiding out in your lead lined fallout shelter (Hey, I don’t blame you. It is, in fact, 2012), I’m of course talking about Tim Tebow. If you’re one of the Broncos fans so fortunate as to have acquired tickets to the game in Boston, be sure to capture and share (I hear Pixorial is great for that…) a bit of the excitement and general 4th quarter hysteria for us poor souls back here in Denver. Here’s hoping Paul Revere looks good in blue and orange!
This month we will share ideas for organizing your memories. For today’s tip, let’s look at those boxes of videos you have tucked away, in a box, possibly under the stairs or worse, in a garage.
Analog Video Formats are Dying – Preserve Those Video Memories!
Did you know that the average life span of a VHS tape is eight years? Wasn’t it about eight years ago that you last recorded anything on a VHS tape? Well, now is as good of time as any to send those tapes in before additional time passes. Pixorial can digitize your home movies so that you can have a DVD and a digital copy online. You can quickly go from having a box of videos that no one can watch, to having a lifetime of videos that you can literally share and enjoy from your phone, iPad, Tablet or browser.
Share and Own Editable Videos Created by You and Others
While you are thinking about it, what if you had your friends and relatives do the same? Imagine if you had videos of the same memories but from different perspectives? One of Pixorial’s great features is our SHARE ORIGINAL button. With this feature, you can take a video of any length and share it with everyone who was there or would appreciate the footage (privately of course). By just adding an email address, Pixorial will send a link to a video that can be edited, owned and shared by your friends and family. Sharing makes it possible for others to select the moments that they liked best and edit at will.
With Pixorial, you can share entire lengths of video and allow your circle of friends or relatives to own, edit and share their favorite parts. Once you start sharing your video library, ask others to share with you as well. Best part, videos shared using SHARE ORIGINAL don’t count against your storage allotment, so share away!
In this video, filmmaker, Brennen Brown, demonstrates the importance of preserving and converting old video.
Pixorial was created to liberate the world’s video – to make it easy for people of all ages to share, create and connect with friends and family through video. With Pixorial, you can easily send, upload, edit, organize and share your videos – from anywhere, to anywhere.
